HOW DO I CHOOSE A LOCATION FOR THE SHOOT?

I have a blog page for my favorite Colorado Springs photoshoot locations, but we can talk about location on our consultation call.  I’m open to all ideas and suggestions.  Locations 45 minutes or greater from Colorado Springs are available for an additional fee.  I also shoot in the mountain areas such as Garden of the Gods and Manitou.

WHAT TIME OF DAY IS BEST?

Indoor headshot and event photo sessions are not impacted by day light. For outdoor photo sessions, lighting is best right after sunrise or about 60-90 minutes before sunset. Evenings are best for mountain shoots. Urban shoots can be good both in the morning and evenings.

IS THE DEPOSIT REFUNDABLE?

Yes. If you are rescheduling, it will get applied to the rescheduled appointment. For cancellations (without reschedule) within one week of the shoot, the deposit is non-refundable.

HOW AND WHEN DO I PAY THE BALANCE?

Pre Photo Session:I will send you a Squarespace invoice after our photoshoot for you to pay the balance via credit card. You may also pay by cash in-person.Post Photo Session: There will also be a Pixieset invoice sent out when you pay for individual products post photo session.

DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE DIGITAL FILES?

Yes, my pricing structure is “ala-carte”, meaning that the photo session is charged separate of the retouched images, photo packages, etc.  The reason is to give the client exactly what they want so that you won't get overcharged.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET MY PHOTOS?

Turnaround time, with retouching, is about 3-5 days after photo selection for headshot and portrait sessions without advanced editing. Turnaround time is 5-7 days for color correction of professional and personal events without advanced editing. Turnaround time, with retouching, is about 5-7 days after photo selection for headshot and portrait sessions with advanced editing. Turnaround time is 10-14 days for color correction of professional and personal events with advanced editing.

HOW MANY PHOTOS DO I RECEIVE?

It depends on the package you choose.  This is listed in the package info when booking.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COLOR CORRECTION AND RETOUCHING?

Color correction includes basic adjustments to exposure, contrast, coloring, and the overall general look and feel to the image.  This is included in every photo that is delivered to you.  Retouching is the process of removing blemishes and skin or hair detail that is unwanted.

HOW MANY OUTFITS CAN I BRING?

See my packages on the booking page for guidance on how many outfits to bring.  For example, the headshot is about 30 minutes and is usually best for one outfit.  But if you are quick and efficient at changing, sometimes we can squeeze in two.

WHERE DO I CHANGE OUTFITS?

Accepted Answer

Depending on the location, you may have to change in your car or pop into a restroom and change.  It’s just the nature of doing photoshoots outside and in cool or interesting places.

CAN I BRING MY FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER TO MY SESSION?

Yes!  I’m all for having a support crew.

CAN I BRING MY DOG MEMBER OR ANY OTHER ANIMAL TO MY SESSION?

Accepted Answer

No. Make accommodations for them to be watched during the session. Only exception is if the animal is for emergency support.

HOW DO I RECEIVE MY PHOTOS?

I will send you a link to a digital gallery where you can download them all.  They will be in JPEG format.

WILL BEHIND THE SCENES VIDEOS BE INCLUDED WITH THE SESSION?

Yes. I will send behind the scenes video footage as an additional or per the client's request via digital gallery, USB and/or DVD video.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING PHOTOGRAPHY?

I got my first camera in 2017 and started out shooting travel and vacation photos.  I have been working as a Quality Engineer in the Automotive and Medical Device industries for over 10 years (I'm kind of seasoned you feel me!).  Eventually, I will become a full-time photographer, using my image barring (dad joke) gifts to honor God and his kingdom!

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?

I shoot with two Nikon D3300 cameras and Sigma prime and wide-angle lenses.  My go-to lenses are the Sigma 85mm f1.4 (Headshots), Sigma 50mm f1.4. (Headshots, Portraits, Events) and Sigma 10-20mm f3.5 (Portraits, Events, Real Estate).

HOW FAR OUT SHOULD I BOOK A SESSION?

During Spring and Summer, I recommend booking 1-2 months out. All other seasons, book at least 2 weeks in advance.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE?

Weather in Colorado is always variable, and I know life can be unpredictable at times, so rescheduling is okay.  Photo sessions canceled and not rescheduled are subject to losing the deposit, if canceled within one week or less of the photoshoot.

CAN I GET THE RAW / NON-EDITED PHOTOS?

Usually, no. But yes, if you are willing to pay $1500 and sign a contract handing over the photography rights to you.

DO YOU SHOOT WEDDINGS?

No. Only engagement photo sessions as of right now.
